Your Brunel Residences Ambassadors arrange great events throughout the year to help you meet new people and get involved with the local community.
We work hard to bring you new events in each term including:
BRU-Q Quiz – Our Facebook Live quiz show is your opportunity to compete against other student flats across campus and be in with the chance of winning a pizza party for your flat. All you need to enter is your flatmates and 2 mobile devices with internet access. Are you ready for the challenge?
Wax On, Wax Off – At the end of our No Shave November charity fundraising event, the Residences team compete in Wax On, Wax Off to find out who is the Ultimate Waxing Champion. Join us in the fun and get involved by entering our raffle to guess who will win, purchase one of our hot chocolates or tuck into a Krispy Kreme donut! All proceeds go to charity.
Movie Nights – Don’t You Forget About… our Movie Nights! We screen a range of movies throughout the year including The Breakfast Club and everyone’s favourite, Elf. We even offer free snack, drinks, and exclusive offers at Izzi’s Pizza! Join your RAs for the screening and let us know if you have a special movie request for our next event!
Meals in Minutes – Don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen making a tasty meal? Struggling to eat healthy food on a student budget? Don’t worry, the RAs have got you covered. Join us on Facebook for our live cooking show, Meals in Minutes. We’ll show you how to make cheap, healthy meals in literally minutes.
Hot Chocolate Night – Wednesdays are hot chocolate night with the Brunel RAs. Join us in the Bishop Post Room with a reusable cup and enough change to pay what you think it’s worth…we warn you now though, they’re really good!
We also run campaigns to help raise money/donations for local charities and contribute to protecting the environment:
Student Switch Off – We work closely with SSO to raise awareness about energy usage and help to limit wasting electricity. Talk to one of your RAs about signing up to be in with the chance of winning Ben & Jerry’s ALL YEAR ROUND!
British Heart Foundation – We host drop-off locations for donations to BHF, helping to raise money for vital research into heart and circulatory diseases. You can use the tabs above to find more information on what items are accepted, or chat to one of your RAs for more information.
No Shave November & MacMillan Cancer Support – Each November, your Residences team take part in No Shave November, refusing to shave legs, armpits and faces for the entire month to raise money and awareness for MacMillan Cancer Support.
Hillingdon Foodbank – At the end of each term, we collect unwanted, non-perishable food items to donate to our local Hillingdon Foodbank. This is a great opportunity for you to give back to the local community.
